The best place to start your planning is at the
Silver City Chamber of Commerce on
this page (click here).
Silver City has a historic downtown with art galleries, fun shops and 2 great
little museums.
Of course, there is always the Gila River basin as
the river leaves the Gila Wilderness (3.5 Million Acres for one to roam). All this is just up
the road about a few miles. Go on, start walking, see if you can cross the
wilderness... see you in a few days if not a few weeks!

Rock hunters have a field day... there are rainbow colored canyons...

And Indian painted cave walls to have a sietsa next
to...

Then, on a day's outing, take in the spectacular
Gila Cliff Dwellings (a National Monument).

This whole region is a boon to photographers.

Of course, bird watchers have their lists to
compare with the Rangers seasonal tally!

And don't forget to check out Pinos Altos'
historic sites: the Opera House and the Museum.

Gila has its own attractions too. In May the Tour
de Gila (with Lance Armstrong in 2009) came through town.

No matter what the season... looking north
across Sacaton Plain in summer...

Or a winter's morning with the clouds nestled in the Gila valley... Las Palomas is
always amazing.

And then, always, there are sunsets to
jumpstart the cool of evening... time for the hot tub.
